MSNBC Live Events Intern

During the summer of 2025, I interned with MSNBC Live Events, where I contributed to video content development, social media strategy, and pitch deck creation, working closely with the Live Events team to amplify MSNBC’s presence across platforms. I created sponsor one-pagers and decks, managed the cross-platform social content calendar (creating the Facebook and LinkedIn pages), coordinated production logistics, and worked closely with graphics and control-room teams to prep FS graphics in Viz/iNews. The role blended filming, directing, editing with project management and audience-driven content strategy, giving me practical experience in fast-paced event delivery and cross-team collaboration.

Luke Russert’s Tour of the Hammerstein Ballroom

I filmed, directed, and edited a 30-second tour with MSNBC Live Event’s Creative Director: Luke Russert that showcases the Hammerstein Ballroom’s architecture and MSNBCLIVE set-up. I maintained a tight narrative hook for social. I storyboarded the video, created an outline and directed the talent during the video shoot, balanced establishing shots with intimate host POVs on location, and took the clips I filmed to my editing software. I then coordinated layered effects and sounds to create a fun feeling and bring that relatability factor to the page. The edit prioritized pace, clarity, and brand coherence so the final cut performed as a polished promotional asset across platforms. This video generated 43K+ views, reaching 35K+ accounts, and 1.1% engagement rate.

DC to NYC With Luke Russert

For the DC→NYC trip piece I produced and executed a multi-location shoot that followed Luke’s journey, capturing candid moments and connective storytelling between cities. I handled logistics like scheduling and talent direction. I shot portable, on-the-move segments. I then delivered platform-optimized edits for social and email use.

The final videos emphasize storytelling and bring an exciting feel to the upcoming event. This commute is one many can relate to and use for reference while coming to MSNBCLIVE ‘25 in NYC. This video is packaged for rapid distribution with social-friendly cuts and captions.

Content Idea Pitch Deck (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)

I developed a content pitch deck to guide MSNBCLIVE’s social strategy — proposing theme pillars, creative concepts, a posting cadence, and platform-specific creative specs for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. The deck included sample tiles/video scripts, UTM tagging recommendations for ticket attribution, and a testing plan to measure performance so the team could scale winning creative. The pitch aligned editorial goals with activation opportunities for sponsors and provided a clear, executable roadmap for the social team to implement.
